Managing Director of RWM Capital Asset Management made a presentation at the roundtable conference "Topical Issues of Operation of Boards of Directors in Companies with State Participation”

10.07.2013

Felix Blinov, the Managing Director of RWM Capital Asset Management, take part and made the presentation at the roundtable conference "Topical Issues of Operation of Boards of Directors in Companies with State Participation”. The roundtable conference was organized by Independent Directors Association and Russian Union of Industrialists and Businessmen.

Independent directors, professional trustees, experts employed by publicly owned companies, representatives of the community of professional directors and experts in the field of corporate management were invited for participation in the roundtable conference.

“I have been working as an independent director for several years and I have the insight into problems and issues which require a system solution, - says Felix Blinov. – If is very important that representatives of governmental authorities, the community of professional directors and experts in the field of corporate management are granted an opportunity to communicate directly, to express their ideas and suggestions, their view on the issues which are to be changed or improved. It is reassuring that Federal Property Management Agency is ready to listen to recommendations and take certain measures for improvement and modernization of the current state property management system taking into consideration such recommendations.

It is also important that IDA raises the issue of recommendations to directors who have been elected for the first time and become members of the Board of directors of publicly owned companies in capacity of independent directors. This topic became one of the key issues of the discussion. Independent directors, while contributing their knowledge and experience to publicly owned companies and furthering interests of the state, have to find the easiest way to bypass obstacles appearing in front of them and experience of their colleagues may help them to that effect.

I am grateful to organizers of the event for an invitation to take part in the conference. I find the open and, in my opinion, quite efficient discussion with my esteemed colleagues from IDA, Federal Property Management Agency and other organizations interesting, intense and undoubtedly useful.”
