RWM Capital Investment Group became a laureate of the 2nd degree of the EcoWorld-2021 International Ecology Prize organized by the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. The honorary award in the category "Environmental awareness, education and culture" was given to the joint project of RWM Capital Group and Krasnoyarsk Recycling Company (a part of RWM Capital Group) - the "Sort Your Waste Properly" video series!
The main goal is to tell figuratively and convincingly about the fact that separate garbage collection for recycling is an effective and available way for everyone to save the environment. Today, recycling of MSW is still quite an abstract concept for many consumers. We demonstrate specific things that can be made from a particular type of waste in our videos, we bring this 'story' closer to the consumers, helping them think about the possible personal contribution of any single person to this process," said Felix Blinov, General Director of RWM Capital Group.
The project features short videos of up to 60 seconds to motivate the viewer to sort MSW. The videos show well-known Krasnoyarsk citizens. Each video focuses on a specific type of recyclable waste - aluminum, plastic, glass, etc., which, when selected from all MSW, can be recycled into new things, rather than deposited in a landfill, where such complex waste takes decades to decompose.
The EcoWorld-2021 International Ecology Prize is held by the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences since 2003 and is a public award for outstanding achievements in environmental protection and environmental safety, as well as in other environmental activities aimed at sustainable development in the XXI century. About 200 projects were submitted for the 2021 competition.
At the final ceremony that took place online on November 30 the organizers of the contest noted the unique creative approach of the "Sort Your Waste Properly" video series and its contribution into the awareness about the reform in the sphere of MSW handling and implementation of separate waste collection system.
