RWM Capital will build a modern Waste-Sorting Facility in Krasnoyarsk

10.10.2022

RWM Capital Investment Group will build a modern waste-sorting facility in the left-bank operational area of Krasnoyarsk with the target capacity of 300 thousand tons per year, which will provide processing (sorting) of all municipal solid waste (MSW) collected in the left-bank operational area. The total investment in the project is 1.5 billion rubles.

"We plan to implement the system of integrated municipal solid waste management in the left-bank area of Krasnoyarsk, which we presented at the Krasnoyarsk Environmental Forum back in 2019, to create a new industry in the region for recycling secondary material resources," said Felix Blinov, CEO of RWM Capital Investment Group. – At the sorting stage we will be able to select useful fractions from MSW and send them for recycling, thus reducing the volume of waste buried in the landfill and the impact on the environment.”

These are the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation as part of the National Ecology Project and in the Presidential Decree on the national development goals of the country for the next decade. In accordance with them, by 2030 Russia must create a sustainable system for waste management which will sort 100% of waste and halve the amount of waste going to landfills — no more than 50% of waste will be allowed to be sent to landfill.

Today, Krasnoyarsk Recycling Company, which is a regional waste handling provider in the left-bank area of Krasnoyarsk, is already implementing a whole complex of measures to reduce the burden on the environment – it installs bins for separate collection of plastic and glass, separates them and transports to the recycling companies. With the construction of the waste-sorting facility, these activities will take on an industrial scale.

"In the future, next to the waste sorting facility we plan to organize an eco-technology park where the selected secondary material resources will be recycled," Felix Blinov added. Construction of a waste-sorting facility and eco-technology park for recycling in the left-bank area of Krasnoyarsk will form a significant potential for business development, new jobs, budget revenues.
